Spontaneous Sacrament

Intricate hyphae structures representing the interconnected community of the Church of the Mushroom, a leading psychedelic church.

During my first years of experimenting with psychedelics, my younger brother came to me, speaking about an in depth conversation he had with God during the previous night.  Our family was not practicing any religion.

My interest was piqued – I asked him how he got in touch with God.  He had eaten a large dose of Psilocybe Cyanescens, which he had discovered in a local neighbor’s yard.  He fell asleep and remained in the place between sleep and wakefulness during the whole trip.

My brother internally asked all sorts of existential questions of the higher intelligence, which answered the questions really well, in ways we never would have predicted.

I couldn’t wait to try talking to God myself, even though I couldn’t find any more Psilocybe Cyanescens.  I was able to get dried, cultivated Psilocybe Cubensis within the week.  I ate a large dose of them and aimed to fall asleep before they kicked in – doing by best to match the conditions of my brother’s experience.

I came into the journey, laying in bed, and I asked all sorts of questions that were unanswerable for most humans – especially my parents.  I too got great answers, which stood the test of time.  I learned to listen to the Higher Intelligence within my own heart, mind, and body, and well as the Higher Intelligence found outside of my body – in nature and others.

This was my first experience using psilocybin mushrooms as a spiritual sacrament.  Ever since, the mushroom has guided my sense of right and wrong, as well as clarified my connection to my ancestors, spirit guides, angels, and God.
